POSITION: Psychology Instructor
DEPARTMENT: Social and Behavioral Science
HOURS: Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Other times as needed
LOCATION: Beltline Campus
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: To carry out all duties and responsibilities of an instructor/faculty member teaching Psychology in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Department including, but not limited to conducting class discussions; lectures, or other appropriate learning activities in courses assigned; provides students with course documentations; demonstrate effective interaction skills; related instruction/materials to course objectives; uses examples & illustrations; grades & responds to student's written assignments, Is able to use online platforms for distance learning instruction such as hybrid & online courses; designs courses & curriculum as needed; reviews and, as needed, designs new programs; updates current courses, prepares syllabi; participates in the development revision of other instructional material, such as transparencies & handouts; remains current in teaching field, assesses effectiveness of courses & programs; participates in the collection & analysis of data pertaining to student learning outcomes & competencies; student advisement: student development, academic advising, recruitment and placement; support & contributes to the college by working on committees and/or performing public service for the college; participating in activities that will develop professional & personal competencies so as to improve the faculty member's knowledge, skills, and proficiency in their present position; keeps office hours, submits reports and records in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology or Geography and a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D in Psychology is preferred.
