POSITION: BOOST Academic Program Director (Patient Care Technician)
DEPARTMENT: Health Sciences
HOURS: Monday- Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Friday-8:00 am-1:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Airport Campus
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Patient Care Technician (PCT) Program Coordinator is responsible for the general administration, planning instruction, guidance, facilities, budget, equipment, professional development, cultivating and managing clinical sites of the program as stated in the BOOST grant scope of work. As an instructor in the Health Sciences Department, the coordinator is responsible for preparing classroom and laboratory instructional materials, delivering instruction, advising students, and remaining current in the discipline, managing the instructional process and participating in college and community service functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in a Health Science discipline; or an Associate Degree in a Health Science discipline with demonstrated competencies in the teaching area of Health Science.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION: Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of teaching experience; Prefer professional credentials to include RN, CMA, RMA or other health care disciplines with phlebotomy/EKG certifications. The Patient Care Technician Program Coordinator must have instruction in educational theory or technique.
