NOTICE OF JOB OPENING
POSITION: Network Systems Management Instructor
DEPARTMENT: Information Systems Technology (IST)
HOURS: Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday-8:00 am-1:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Airport/Beltline Campus
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: To serve as an Instructor within the Information System Technology Department, primarily teaching Network Systems Management and other courses; participates in curriculum development and revision; assists with academic advising; evaluates students’ progress; keeps accurate records and submits pertinent information on students; participates in faculty meetings and attends college functions; remains active in information technology organizations and attends workshops and other educational offerings in order to continue to upgrade teaching; follows institutional policies, procedures and authority; assists in special projects and maintains good working relations with supervisor and peers; may be required to teach classes at multiple campuses and off-campus sites.
QUALIFICATIONS: A Doctorate or Master’s degree in Computing or a Master’s degree in a related discipline with concentration in computing (to include a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline). Knowledge of networking and computing concepts, applications, operating systems, networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, VoIP) and networking hardware is required, as well as the ability to keep abreast of new networking technologies, and the demonstrated ability to teach these skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three (3) years post-secondary or equivalent teaching experience including Certified Cisco Academies. Cisco Certified Network Profession (CCNP) certification or above. Two (2) years’ experience with Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and training or Cisco Certified Professional Voice (CCNP-Voice)
