POSITION: Computer Programming Technology Instructor (2 Positions)

DEPARTMENT: Information Systems Technology (IST)

HOURS: Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. Ė 5:00 p.m.; Friday-8:00 am-1:30 p.m.

LOCATION: Airport/Beltline Campus

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: To serve as an Instructor within the Information System Technology Department, primarily teaching courses in the Computer Programming Technology program and in its related certificate programs; participates in curriculum development and revision; assists with academic advising; evaluates studentsí progress; keeps accurate records and submits pertinent information on students; participates in faculty meetings and attends college functions; remains active in information technology organizations and attends workshops and other educational offerings in order to continue to upgrade teaching; follows institutional policies, procedures and authority; assists in special projects and maintains good working relations with supervisor and peers; may be required to teach classes at multiple campuses and off-campus sites.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Doctorate or Masterís degree in computing or a Masterís degree in a related discipline with concentration in computing (to include a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline). A teaching knowledge of Java, Visual Basic .Net, C#.Net, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, UNIX and networking is required, as well as the ability to keep abreast of new computing technologies, and the demonstrated ability to teach these skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three (3) years post-secondary or equivalent teaching experience. Sun Certified Java Developer (SCJD) and/or Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) certification.
