NOTICE OF JOB OPENING
POSITION: English Instructor (2 Positions)
HOURS: Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; Friday-8:00 am-1:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Beltline or Beltline Campus
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Teaches six sections of composition and/or literature courses and develops curriculum as needed. Advises students. Serves on college and/or department committees. Engages in professional development. Keeps office hours. Submits reports of instructional activity. Participates in the collection and analysis of data pertaining to student learning outcomes and competencies. Is able to use online platforms to enhance teaching and learning. May be required to teach classes at multiple campuses and off-campus sites, including high schools.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in English or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in English. Degree in English, Composition and Rhetoric, or Professional/Technical writing strongly preferred. Demonstrated interest and expertise in teaching college English courses, including both composition and literature, to diverse student populations highly preferred. Demonstrated interest in writing program development and the two-year college environment also preferred.
