POSITION: Medical Assisting Instructor
DEPARTMENT: Health Sciences
HOUR: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Airport Campus
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: An instructor in the Medical Assisting Program is responsible for classroom and clinical teaching/supervision/management; student learning assessment and reporting; laboratory preparations; remaining current in the medical assisting profession and maintaining certification credentials. Other assigned duties may include, but are not limited to, participation in student advising/recruitment; clinical site identification; community service; attending professional development course/seminars; college/division committee duties. Teaching assignments may include administrative/clinical aspects of medical assisting and related allied health sciences.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An Associate Degree in the Health Sciences or related field with an academic Certificate in Medical Assisting from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program; must be a Certified Medical Assistant, CMA (AAMA or Registered Medical Assistant, RMA (AMT) with a minimum of three years of experience performing clinical and administrative duties. Postsecondary teaching and multimedia presentation experience preferred.
