POSITION: Call Center Representative
WORK SCHEDULE: 25 hours per week

LOCATION: Harbison Campus – may vary

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Provides superior customer service support to both internal and external customers through telephone, written, and in-person inquiries. Communicates in an efficient, effective and professional manner to resolve all customer issues such as student registration and financial arrangement, etc., and actively listens to answer inquiries and resolve customer issues.

  • Receives inbound calls and makes outbound calls
  • Provides support to customers, handle inquiries and provide resolutions
  • Communicates class/program details and requirements to customers efficiently and effectively
  • Utilizes strong computer skills to assist staff with class enrollment management

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires the highest level of customer service skills, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must be willing and able to work at any campus or location as needed (including covering events on weekends). A bachelor's degree and one (1) year of relevant customer service / call center experience; or an associate degree and three (3) years of relevant customer service / call center experience; or a high school diploma and five (5) years of relevant customer service / call center experience. Prefer experience with Datatel.

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must be able to absorb a large amount of detailed information and be able to apply knowledge quickly

SALARY: Hiring range is $11 - $12 per hour. Benefits are not included.

Position: Student Life Specialist

Department: Student Life

Hours: Monday-Wednesday 8:00 am–5:00 pm; Thursday 8:00 am–5:30 pm; Friday 8:00 am–1:30 pm

Location: Beltline Campus

Description of Position: The Student Life Specialist's overall functions will be departmental marketing, Student Online Newspaper, online student events calendar, and health and wellness education and programs. Must be knowledgeable of the calendar of activities; anticipate and prepare for deadlines and surges in workload; make independent decisions as required concerning the operations of the Student Life Office and serve as principle liaison between the Director, students, and MTC Student Life Offices.

  • The Specialist will have a full range of marketing responsibilities, including: managing marketing of department services, events, and programs; email campaigns and inquiries; student events calendar, and managing social media.
  • Advises the SAB Vice President of Public Relations & Communications, the SAB Vice President of Information Technology and the SAB Communications Team (with guidance from the Coordinator of Student Life)
  • Manages the Online Student Newspaper
  • Monitors and coordinates postings for Beltline campus bulletin boards
  • Coordinate student employee schedules and time sheets
  • Process computerized IDs
  • Manage Student Commons on the Beltline Campus and assures Compliance with College Policies and Procedures.
  • Assist with execution of department activities events, workshops, and seminars to include health and wellness, alcohol and other drug education, sexual assault awareness, etc…
  • Scheduling space requests, and serving as liaison to internal and external partners.
  • Management of all Departmental Inventory
  • Maintains and monitors Beltline campus lost and found

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience. Experience in a higher education setting working with students is required. Training and/or experience in marketing and social media technology required. Strong presentation and facilitation skills and strong oral and written communication skills are required. Ability to establish effective working relationships and maintain positive public relations, ability to demonstrate sound professional judgment and initiative, and refined customer service skills are required as this position will interact with a diverse population daily. Duties are varied and peak periods are demanding. Excellent organizational skills are necessary as is the ability to manage conflicting and competing priorities.

General Description:

This position requires a pleasant, friendly and energetic demeanor and the ability to organize and prioritize tasks and pay attention to details in a fast paced office. The Program Assistant is responsible for daily office operations of the Admissions Welcome Center, which includes answering questions and referring visitors and students to appropriate offices/persons in Admissions and other areas of the college. Since the Welcome Center is the first point of contact for visitors to Midlands Technical College, the Program Assistant will need to be able to adhere to the schedules that are set for opening and closing times at the Center.

Other duties include:

Program Assistant will be responsible for keeping a daily log of all walk-ins to the Welcome Center. Will assist students and visitors, faculty, and staff with general campus information. Assistant will be responsible for updating the Welcome Center binder of weekly campus wide room schedules, workshops, and other information received in the Welcome Center. The Program Assistant must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks, to prioritize workload and to perform duties on a timely basis and within deadlines. The staff member may be assigned to handle additional duties which could include working some late evenings during the late registration period.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Strong interpersonal communication skills, including patience and initiative
-Must possess the ability to communicate with a diverse constituency including internal offices, general public, students, parents and others who request basic college information.
-Strong data entry skills and attention to details
-Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and capable of managing multiple task and visitors to ensure quality service
-Knowledge of computer applications to include, but not limited to, MS Office, including: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access programs
-Proficiency in keyboarding

Minimum Qualifications: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with four years of experience in office or administrative positions. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree with at least three years of office/administrative experience or a Bachelor's degree with at least two years of similar experience. In addition, applicants should have advanced computer skills in MS Office Suite, knowledge of MTC policies/procedures.

POSITION: Data Coordinator

Monday -Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

$12-14 per hour, contractual/no benefits

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Strategic Technology, this position performs data reporting and administrative functions within MTC's Admissions Office. The data coordinator will: assist with the development and execution of comprehensive communications programs, including written, visual, and electronic communications for special student populations such as Gamecock Gateway and students post-orientation with the college's CRM System; guide students through the admissions process with a high degree of follow up and superior student service; manages online communications and feedback channels (e.g., email, online surveys), tracks issues and suggestions, and provides triage role as needed (e.g., responds, escalates, forwards, follows through to completion); assist with the daily functions of the Hobson's CRM system inclusive of processes and procedures including data integrity, interest pages, surveys, mail exports, filter development and quality checks; perform data entry functions as well as document imaging; and perform other duties as assigned.

A bachelor's degree and two years' experience in data processing (including collecting data, scheduling, maintenance of records and data files, analysis and reporting). Experience with MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative (InDesign and Illustrator).
