In order to receive the maximum transfer credit, candidates must do the following:

1. Complete the approved courses identified by this agreement. 

2. Earn no less than a grade of C in any course.

3. Meet with a Columbia College advisor after you have been accepted at Columbia College to register for classes.

4. Complete the courses outlined for your major (see below) at Midlands Technical College or after transferring to Columbia College. After enrolling at Columbia College, students are allowed to take up to 15 semester hours of transient credit at another institution.

5. It is strongly recommended that you take the Praxis I before enrolling at Columbia College. If you do not take the Praxis I, you may submit a minimum of 1650 on the SAT or a minimum of 24 on the ACT composite.

6. You may also be required to take an English, math, and/or language proficiency exam at Columbia College.

7. Transcripts from all colleges attended will be evaluated for transfer credit. The maximum transfer credit awarded from a junior or technical college is 72 semester hours.

8. At least 33 semester hours of course work must be completed at Columbia College to earn a baccalaureate degree.

9. Work schedule flexibility must allow for you to meet the field experience requirements contained in methods and field courses that are taken over four semesters. These field experiences must be completed during the day in public school settings.

10. Sixty-four consecutive days in a school are required for the Directed Teaching semester. The final semester of Directed Teaching is fulltime.
