Speaking and listening activities also develop students skills in listening

ESL 031 is designed to prepare students with ESL
needs in reading English for advanced intermediate courses in English skills. Reading
assignments develop themes in contemporary American society, with an emphasis on education

III (=ENG 035)
ESL 038 is designed to prepare students with ESL needs in English
grammar and writing for advanced intermediate courses in English skills. Writing
assignments develop themes in contemporary American society, with an emphasis on education

ESL 110 prepares students to write longer and more complicated
papers for work or college preparation. (Prerequisite: ESL 037 and 038
or equivalent placement scores)
- ESL 104 SPOKEN AMERICAN ENGLISH
This course introduces ESL students to issues in American English
pronunciation, including stress, intonation, and phonetic patterns, with an emphasis on
applying these principles to produce clear and comprehensible spoken English.
