PLEASE NOTE THE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES!!
Exams offered year round!
Exams offered days, evenings, and weekends!
Exams offered on both Airport and Beltline campuses!

Gone are the days when you could only take the TAP exams once a year. Do you have too much to do in May? Take the exams whenever is best for you. TAP exams are now administered in the Student Assessment Centers on Beltline and Airport campuses, unless otherwise noted. They can be taken during daytime, evening, and Saturday hours. You select the most convenient day and time from the Assessment Center’s schedule. You also decide whether to take your exam on the Beltline or Airport campus.

Interested in taking an exam? Pre-register online then show up at the Assessment Center. Some exams are only available on certain days of the week, so be sure to check the Center’s schedule! Your TAP exam results will be mailed to you. You might even know how you did before you leave the exam!

Students:

  1. Identify the MTC exam you are prepared to exempt.
  2. Find a day and week that works for you.
  3. Fill out the Registration form.
  4. Take the exam at the campus of your choice. (Check each Course Exemption Description under the Exams tab for any required materials. You will NOT be allowed to take the exam if you do not have the materials!)
  5. Enroll at Midlands Technical College. (Skip this step if you are currently enrolled.)
  6. Notify the Coordinator of Advanced Placement if you want to have the credit added to your MTC transcript.
High School Personnel:
  1. Advise students about high school courses that are appropriate for TAP exemption credit.
  2. Direct teachers, students, and parents to TAP exam information on the MTC web site.
  3. Serve as the liaison between your high school and the MTC Coordinator of Advanced Placement.
  4. Help students with pre-registration.
  5. Collect and maintain TAP Exam results for reporting purposes. Results will be mailed to each high school on a regular basis.
