- Submit an admissions application. Request your high school and all colleges you attended previously send official transcripts directly to the MTC Admissions Office. To ensure processing time, applications, transcripts and placement test scores should be received in the Admissions Office at least three weeks prior to the start of registration.
Health Science and Nursing programs have additional requirements.
- Complete a Financial Aid Application (FAFSA). You may apply online at fafsa.ed.gov; please be sure to use MTC’s college code, 003993, where required on your application.
Please allow several weeks for processing. You do not have to wait for your financial aid award before registering for classes. You may check your award by accessing your account through MTC Online.
- Take a placement test. This will help ensure that you enroll in courses that are appropriate for your current skill level. A testing schedule is available by clicking here.
You may exempt the placement test if you have completed college-level English and math courses with grades of C or higher from a regionally accredited college.
- Complete the Pre-Advisement Module (PAM) to learn of the many resources and other important information to be a successful MTC student. You must complete the PAM before scheduling an advisement appointment.
- Meet with an advisor. Once you have been notified of your acceptance to the college and have completed the PAM, you will need to schedule an appointment with an advisor. Your advisor will assist you in selecting courses for your major.
- Schedule and register for classes. After meeting with your advisor, you may use the online Course Search to view the class schedule or go to one of MTC’s Online Services Centers to register for your courses.
- Pay your tuition and fees. Tuition and fees may be paid on campus at the Cashier’s Office at the Airport or Beltline campus, by phone, online with a credit card, or by mail if postmarked by the requested deadline. If you have been awarded financial aid, log in to MTC Online to access your account information.
- Purchase books. Go to class! Bookstores are located on the Airport and Beltline campuses. You can also visit the bookstores online.
- It is important to have an MTC Student Photo ID card. These are made in the Student Life Office on scheduled days after classes start. Check for days and times of ID processing by clicking here.
