Follow these steps to enroll in classes at Midlands Technical College. Continuing students (someone who has taken credit courses at MTC within the past year), may begin with step three. All others must begin with step one.
Apply to the College
Submit an Admissions Application. Request official transcripts if necessary and complete a Financial Aid Application. (The FAFSA code for Midlands Technical College is 003993)
Completing your admissions application is a crucial first step in your enrollment; your history with Midlands Technical College begins here. Remember, the earlier you submit your admissions application the greater your chances for securing classes.
Take an Assessment test
Midlands Technical College uses placement examinations to help students identify what level of courses will best fit into their educational plans. The exams used by MTC are COMPASS, the primary test, and the ASSET. Testing is available on a walk-in basis on the Airport and Beltline Campuses. The placement test schedule is available on the Student Assessment Web site.
Meet with an advisor
New students will meet with either a new student advisor or departmental advisor, depending on your major. Applicants with previous college credits will meet with a departmental advisor. Some Continuing Students are not required to meet with an advisor, some are.
Select and Register for your classes
After meeting with an advisor, students will be able to select and register for classes. Continuing and Transfer Students may register online, if approved to do so or web enabled. Students may log on to MTC Online to see if they are enabled for online registration. Scheduling may also be done from home or any computer by using the MTC Online System.
Pay your registration fees.
Your fees may be paid at either Campus using a credit card, by mail, in person, by a third party (such as an employer), online or with financial aid awarded to you. The Cashier’s office is located on the Airport Campus in the Reed Hall building. On the Beltline Campus, the Cashier’s office is located in the Beltline Student Center, Room 126.

Purchase Books. Go to Class!
You can purchase your books at the Midlands Technical College Bookstore on either campus or go to http://www.midlandstech.edu/bookstore.htm. The bookstores are located on the Airport Campus in the Airport Student Center and in the Beltline Student Center on Beltline.
Your schedule contains the time and location of your classes. The first day of class can be the most important. Please make sure you are there. Have a successful term!
