PHARMACY TECHNOLOGY Associate in Health Science (PHM3)

Effective Fall 2004, no new students will be accepted in this program.
DESCRIPTION:
A program designed to prepare pharmacy technical personnel to assist Pharmacists in drug calculations, preparation, packaging, labeling, and dispensing. The technician will be able to continue academic progress toward job enhancement and/or earning an advanced degree.
BEGINNING SEMESTER: Fall, but courses may be taken any semester.
CAMPUS: Airport
| ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS |
- Must have completed a formal pharmacy technician training program of at least six months in length in a civilian institution or eighteen weeks of a military program.
- Students must maintain a grade of "C" in all pharmacy, mathematics and science courses to successfully complete the program.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 81 Semester credit hours is required for graduation. A minimum grade of "C" must be obtained in the pharmacy course.
PROGRAM NOTES:
- Applicants must apply through the MTC Admissions Office.
- Transfer students academic and technical credit will be evaluated on each case basis.
- Transfer students will be required to interview with the Pharmacy Program.
- Course substitutions must be approved by the Program Director.

- GENERAL ELECTIVES -
Electives depend upon the student's educational goals and show wide variety. Credits may be selected from curriculum courses numbered 101 and above, excluding MAT 101, MAT 102, RDG 101, IDS 102 and COL 103.
- Midlands Technical College is accredited for Pharmacy Technology training by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
