DESCRIPTION:
A program designed to provide the opportunity for completion of the first year of general education requirements for students planning to transfer to Trident Technical College or Greenville Technical College to complete the second year of the occupational therapy assistant program.

- Emotional and physical ability to carry out normal activities of an occupational therapy assistant
as determined by the physical examination by a physician and completion of a personal health history.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:
This certificate is 35 credit hours.
A minimum of 74 semester credit hours is required for graduation from the Greenville Technical College OTA Program.
A minimum of 77 semester credit hours is required for graduation from the Trident Technical
College OTA program. A minimum grade of "C" must be attained in all OTA and science
courses.
PROGRAM NOTES:
- Acceptance into this program does not guarantee acceptance into the OTA program at Trident Technical College 
or the OTA program at Greenville Technical College. 
- Students must meet all the specific entrance requirements of the Trident Technical College program in order to be considered for acceptance.
- Science courses should be delayed until the student is ready to transfer. These courses are valid for no more than 24 months.
- GENERAL ELECTIVES -
Electives depend upon the student's educational goals and show wide variety. Credits may be selected from curriculum courses numbered 101 and above, excluding MAT 101, MAT 102, RDG 101, IDS 102 and COL 103.
- Greenville Technical College will accept most of the credits in this program with the following exceptions:
- Greenville Technical College will not accept PSY 203 (Human Growth and Development) for PSY 212 (Abnormal Psychology).
- Greenville Technical College will not except any Humanities except PHI 105 (Introduction to Logic) or PHI 115 (Contemporary Moral Issues).
- It is the student's responsibility to insure that all requirements have been met in order to be considered for transfer to the Greenville Technical College OTA program. 
| Trident Technical College Transfer Requirements: |
It is the student's responsibility to insure that all of the following requirements have been met in order to be considered for transfer to the Trident Tech OTA program.

- Application to Trident Technical College.
- Application to Health Sciences Technology Division.
- Two (2) copies of complete high school and college transcripts.
- Interview with department head or program faculty.
- Twenty (20) hours of observation in at least two (2) occupational therapy activities
recommended.
- Physical examination.
- Application deadline for Trident (includes requirements a-f): September 1 of the year prior
to transfer.
- Completion of appropriate DVS course(s) prior to enrollment in curriculum courses for those
scoring below the cutoff on the placement test.
- All other requirements as outlined in the college catalog and the OTA transfer program handbook.
