THE PONY EXPRESS EDITORIAL BOARD

In accordance with the Student Code, Student Handbook/Planner Appendix I, page 51. C, students are entitled to the constitutional right of freedom of the press, as follows:

In official student publications, students are entitled to the constitutional right of freedom of press, including constitutional limitations on prior restraint and censorship. To ensure this protection, each college shall have an editorial board with membership from the Student Advisory Board (SAB), faculty, and administration. Each college has the responsibility of defining the selection process for its editorial board. The primary responsibility of the board shall be to establish and safeguard editorial policies.

This board will convene only in the event of a freedom of the press or other pertinent student newspaper issue. As well, although all current SAB Officers are listed as members, it will only be necessary for one student representative to be present at a meeting. All questions, regarding the Pony Express Editorial Board, should be directed to the Student Life Director and/or designee from the Student Life Staff, who serves as the Pony Express Editor and Advisor to the SAB.
