How to use this GPA Calculator
- To calculate your current Grade Point Average (GPA):
- Enter all current courses in Course Prefix column (i.e. ACC 101, MAT 100).
- Enter the number of credits for each course.
- Enter expected letter grade for current term GPA.
- View your anticipated Term GPA in the area below your courses.Note: You can adjust your GPA by backspacing over a grade and entering a new one. Your GPA automatically recalculates. Clear an individual row by pressing the rest button or clear the entire form by pressing the Reset Form button at the bottom. Use the Print Page button at the bottom of the form to print out the entire page.
- To calculate your Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA):
- Complete the Term calculator, then enter Total Earned Credits under the Cumulative GPA Section.
- Enter Total Grade Points. (Each of these figures must be obtained from a MTC transcript available on MTC Online.)
- Click on the Calculate button.

Notes:
- The GPA Calculator was designed to provide a projected calculation of your GPA based upon the information entered and the Midlands Technical College grading system. It is NOT an official record of a student's grades
- This calculator may be used to calculate a single term GPA or a cumulative term GPA.
- Zero level developmental courses are NOT calculated in a MTC GPA (example: MAT 035, ENG 035, RDG 035). Do Not include these courses on the calculator. These courses may, however, affect your GPA if transferring to another institution. Check with the receiving school.
- Take advantage of the Help feature by moving the mouse over column/row headings and buttons to see its description displayed in red in the middle section of the table.
