Friends I have made many wonderful friends during my short time at Midlands Technical College. There is a huge opportunity to network and develop relationships at this school. MTC is fortunate enough to host a very diverse student body. There are students of many different ages, cultures and ethnicities here. I grew up in a small rural area, and before I came to MTC I had not received much exposure to the wonderful diversity that is a part of our world. My time at MTC has been an eye-opening experience in that respect. I have made many different friends with many different backgrounds, and through this I have gained an education beyond just an academic one. Also, being older than the average college student, I was very anxious about returning to school. I was quickly put at ease as I walked around campus the first day of school and noticed that the students at MTC covered a wide range of ages. Seeing other “older” students gave me a sense of belonging and let me know that I was not alone. The student body is overall a very friendly and sociable group. Everyone here is willing to lend a helping hand or offer an encouraging word when needed. I consider myself privileged to have had the opportunity to meet the people I have met while attending MTC. |
