Juggling School and other responsibilities Last August I took stock of my life. I am married to a wonderful man and have a fabulous 9-year-old stepson who loves hockey and video games. Suddenly I have a mortgage, marital issues, and parenting complications in my life in addition to my job. I realized I had, after seven years, still failed to do what I had promised myself I would. I had never gone back to continue my education. We only have my stepson every other weekend. I will not allow my time with him to be diluted by work. So I take those weekends off. I can’t go to school on weekends as a result. I work from six in the morning until two thirty most days, so morning classes were out. If I took night classes when would I see my husband? Clearly I would have some juggling to do. I finally settled on a mix of evening and morning classes. I still have to sacrifice some time with my husband but it isn’t much since he doesn’t get home until late anyway. |
