Monday April 28 is the last day any acceptable work is accepted, such as No credits for work previously submitted but not completed or late projects. No credits not completed will count minus 10 points off the project grade.
GRADE: IT Essentials/Windows test 5%, Other TESTS 35%, Graded
Projects 50%, PowerPoint/Internet Project 10%
WEEKLY PRINT ASSIGNMENTS
Ten (10) points will be deducted from
the specific software project grade for each weekly print assignment not turned in to the instructor. These
points will be deducted before the project average is calculated at the end of
the semester No papers, not turned in, are accepted when we are scheduled to
start next software. KEEP THESE WHEN RETURNED FOR YOUR RECORD.
PROJECTS (All Projects and tests must be
returned to your instructor)
Fifteen (15) points will be deducted for late projects.
TESTS:
No makeup tests will be given.
If a student is late for class
on test day and another has finished and left the room the late student will
not be allowed to take the test. You are not allowed to leave the room until
you have finished.
EXAM: Students are expected to take exams.
1. If you missed one test the exam
will replace it.
2. One
grade either from the tests or exam will be dropped.
Grade Scale A=94 -100, B=87-93, C=78-86, F= BELOW 78
NOTE: No “Incomplete” grades will be issued without the approval of the department head.
Attendance: Students
may not miss more than 15% of scheduled classes, beginning the first day the class
meets, regardless of the reason for the absence. After exceeding this limit (TTH=4), a
student will be withdrawn from the class by the instructor. Any deviations
must be approved by the IST department head.
Tardiness: Attendance will be taken at the beginning of the class period. Students not answering to the roll call at that time will be marked absent. Students arriving late may check-in with the instructor after class in order to be marked tardy. Three marks of tardy will count as one absence. Attendance records will not be changed retroactively after the scheduled class meeting.

CLASSROOM RULES :( Violators
may be referred to the Assistant VP Student Support Services or Counseling.)
Disruptions in class are not appropriate. Do not type, print, walk around,
use the Internet, or leave class, while your instructor is presenting or
talking to the class, unless requested by your instructor. Do not leave class
without telling your instructor. Take care of personal business before
or after class.
Students are
expected to take classes seriously and are expected to be attentive and
participate when appropriate throughout the entire class period.
Please,
no drinks, water, food, pagers, beepers, or cell phones on in class.
Weather policy: The College may be closed because of inclement
weather. This news should be available on the Web site at Midlands Technical College, at the main
phone number at 738-1400, and announced on WIS-TV and radio. Please check
frequently in changeable weather for closings and re-openings. If the College
closing or reopening means that you will have at least 30 minutes of a class,
you should come to class. Please do not call the IST Department office or the
President’s office with closure questions.
Campus
Emergency Protocol
Students and employees are asked to report safety
concerns or suspicious activities to Campus Security at 7199(on campus), or
738-7199 (cell phone and off campus). In the event of an emergency, student and
employee protocol is to immediately call Campus Security or local 911. If
an emergency occurs, employees and students may seek additional information and
instructions via MTC Information Centers, email, college Intranet, the MTC
website, campus voice mail and loud speakers.
PRINTING: Only printing required for
this class is allowed.
Disks:
JUMP/Flash Drives are recommended. 3.5 Diskettes are ok but sometimes have more
technical problems.
Note: This is a tentative schedule and may be modified to accommodated learning needs. Specific assignments will be provided during class. If you are absent you are responsible for any assignments missed.
