MATERIALS NEEDED: all textbooks, notebook, blue or black ink pen, and a 256 Mb or
larger flash drive storage device.
CLASS POLICIES: Students are expected to take
classes seriously and are expected to be attentive and participate when
appropriate throughout the entire class period.
Students are also encouraged to work in pairs when appropriate on lab
work.
Please,
no drinks, food, gum, pagers, beepers, or portable telephones in class. Disruptions in class are not appropriate
(i.e., talking, walking in front of others).
Please respect others and take care of personal business before or after
class.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: Students are expected to be prompt and remain in class throughout
the entire class period unless
previously excused by the instructor.
Any student arriving after class time begins will be marked Tardy. Absences are limited to double the number of
times the course meets per week (i.e., meet twice a week=allowed 4 absences)
and any two (2) tardies constitutes an absence.
(Any student not in attendance at the beginning of the class start time
is considered tardy. Any class time
missed beyond ten minutes is considered an absence.) Anything beyond these allowances will result
in being dropped from the course. It is the responsibility of the
student to sign the daily sign-in sheet.
Failure to do so will be considered an absence. If you expect to miss more than 3 class days
in succession, you should consider withdrawing from the course. You should have all work schedules,
babysitting, and transportation problems resolved before class begins. The aforementioned problems are NOT sufficient excuses for missing
class.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Students are expected to keep
abreast of the reading assignments and stay current on all classwork
assigned. There are no make-ups on missed tests. One
test grade will be dropped. Remember,
due dates for assignments and projects are just that: due dates.
All lab assignments will be uploaded electronically via WebCT and the dropbox will close
automatically at the deadline. Late work
is accepted at the discretion of the instructor. Students are expected to make use of the open
labs to complete assignments.
Students
are not excused from any classwork or tests given on
a day they are absent. (Remember, only
one test grade will be dropped.). Students
are encouraged to exchange telephone number with classmates to get any missed
assignments. Students who miss are
responsible for obtaining notes and assignments from another student. Absence
does not excuse any student from classroom responsibilities due at the
beginning of the next class meeting.
DISABILITY ISSUE: Students with disabilities requiring
in-class accommodations should call the Counseling/Disabilities Resource Center
at 738-7636 on Beltline Campus or 822-3505 on Airport Campus.
ACADEMIC
INTEGRITY: Academic
dishonesty is explicitly prohibited. Students are expected to achieve on their
own merits and abilities, to exercise integrity in all of their affairs, and to
refrain absolutely from any form of academic dishonesty.
In short, each student is expected to work all exercises individually and
submit his/her own work. Students are not allowed to work on exercises
together; neither are students to submit someone else's file(s) as their own.
All infractions will be referred
to the Office of the Director of Student Life. Please refer to the MTC Student Handbook.
