COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course integrates a wide variety of skills and knowledge through practical work experiences in a simulated office environment.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this course the student will:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of effective interpersonal skills, teamwork, professionalism, and work ethics.

2. Apply office procedures and advanced editing operations to produce mailable business documents using equipment and applications software commonly found in the business environment.

3. Demonstrate good planning and decision-making skills while completing a variety of office assignments.

4. Evaluate his/her performance and develop improvement and enrichment strategies.

5. Demonstrate the use of a variety of office equipment.

6. Maintain supplies, materials, and required documents for each component of the simulation.

ATTENDANCE POLICY: The department policy will apply. The number of absences allowed is equal to twice the number of times the course meets per week.

LATE ASSIGNMENTS: Assignments are to be turned in on or before the announced due date. Late work and make-up tests will be at the discretion of the instructor.

NOTE: Students must earn a grade of "C" or better in all the courses offered within the Information Systems Department in order for the grade to be counted toward graduation.
