COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course will provide a comprehensive foundation in both SQL and Relational Database design and implementation. A current commercially available database product will be used for class projects. Dynamic and embedded SQL Programming techniques will be emphasized.

STUDENT COMPETENCIES: Upon successful completion of this course the student should be competent to perform the following tasks:

Achievement of these competencies will be measured by a combination of graded homework assignments, and performance on quizzes and on a final examination.

C	78 - 86
F	0 - 77

All projects must be turned in on or before the due date for that program or project. No projects will be accepted after the due dates.

No incomplete grades will be given.

Any deviation from this policy must be authorized by the Department Head.

All forms of academic dishonesty, including but not limited to cheating on tests, plagiarism, collusion, and falsification of information, will call for discipline.

Academic integrity questions should be resolved by consulting the Student Code as documented in the Midlands Technical College Student Handbook. All issues of academic dishonesty will be referred to the director of Campus Life.

ATTENDANCE POLICY: It is essential that you attend class in order to receive a passing grade. If you must miss class then please let the instructor know in advance, if possible. If you miss more than 4 classes for a class that meets 2 times a week, or 6 classes for a class that meets 3 times a week, then the instructor may withdraw you from the class.

738-1400, and announced on WIS-TV and radio. Please check frequently in changeable weather for closings and re-openings. If the College closing or reopening means that you will have at least 30 minutes of a class, you
should come to class. Please do not call the IST Department office or the President’s office with closure questions.
