LAN NETWORKING SYSTEMS CERTIFICATE


CERTIFICATE PROGRAM (LAN6)


DESCRIPTION:
The LAN Network Certificate provides students with the knowledge and skills to prepare for occupations in the field of local area networks. Students learn local area networking concepts, standards and protocols used in a client server environment. In addition students learn how to use networking software in a networked lab, how to install networking software and hardware in file servers, work stations and routers. Beginner and advanced courses in DOS and windows are required at the beginning of the program.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: 24 semester hours are required for this certificate.  

PROGRAM NOTES:

  1. This certificate will provide students with the knowledge and skills to prepare for occupations in the filed of local area networks. Students will learn local area networking concepts, standards, and protocols used in a client server environment.
  2. Students will learn to use networking software in a network lab, install networking software and hardware in file servers, work stations, and routers.
  3. Beginner and advanced courses in DOS and WINDOWS are required at the beginning of the program.
  4. Students must earn a grade of "C" or better in all of the courses offered within the Business and Information Systems Technology departments for the grade to count toward graduation. This includes courses with the following prefixes: ACC, BAF, BUS, CPT, CRP, IST, LEG, MGT, MKT and OST.
