ATTENDANCE:
ü The quality of your learning experience in this class is determined in large part of your participation in the learning process. Therefore, it is important that you make an effort to attend EVERY CLASS!
ü You all are gathered in a COHORT GROUP :
|
1. group of people: a united group of people |
|
2. supporter: a supporter, accomplice, or associate of a leader |
This means, you all are going through the college process together. There is no competition, but only motivation. Help one another study, understand daily tasks, and make it to class on time. You are all a team – WORK TOGETHER!!
ü If for some reason you cannot attend class, you are still responsible for all class work, homework, lecture notes, reading assignments, etc…
ü An absence is an absence regardless of the reason. There is no such thing as an excused absence.
ü A tardy means that you missed fewer than 10 minutes of class. If you miss more than 10 minutes of class (at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end), you may be counted absent. Three tardies equal one absence
ü I will take roll at the beginning of EVERY class. If you are not in class, I will mark you absent. If you arrive after roll call, you need to see the instructor to request the absence be changed to a tardy. It is YOUR responsibility to see what this change is made at the end of the class on that date as changes will not be made at a later date.
ELECTRONICS:
Phone calls will NOT BE ALLOWED during this class time. Please have your cell phone turned off or on vibrate during class time. Other items like pagers, Ipods, Palm Pilots etc… are also not allowed in class. Very disturbing to you TEAMMATES around you! In case of emergencies, you can be contacted by security personnel by having your family or others call 738-7850.
GRADING SCALE:
A= 94-100 B= 85-93 C= 75-84 D= 70-74 F= 69 and below
The introduction of the Work Keys Program sections as needed is required for this course. Key Train Program as needed will be developed.
MISSED ACTIVITIES, LECTURES, and TESTS: Activities, tests, and lectures are an important part of the course grade and should be taken seriously. Students who are absent must make up activities, tests, or lectures at the instructor’s convenience. Only one make-up activity is allowed. In addition, penalty points may be deducted from the final score. Students absent from a class are responsible for the work of the missed class and should contact someone to get the notes and assignments that were given during the class.
ACADEMIC BEHAVIOR: Students should plan to be present at the time the class is scheduled to begin and stay for the full period. Students who come in late may miss important information, interfere with the class presentation, and disturb other students in the class. Leaving in the middle of class or before class is dismissed creates the same problem. If a student behaves disruptively in class, the instructor may dismiss the student from the class and count the student absent for that day. The student whose behavior disrupted class must make an appointment with the instructor outside of class and meet with the instructor to resolve the problem before the student can return to class.
STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES: If special accommodations are needed for students with disabilities, the student should contact the Counseling Services Office for assistance (738-7636). Documentation regarding a specific disability is required for accommodation arrangements. Confidentiality of the information received will be maintained.
