Math 032 is a basic mathematics course with a little prelagebra added. Students are taught the basics of order of operations, integers, fractions, decimals, proportion, and percents. An introduction to algebra is included. Throughout the course, students are introduced to variables, like terms, and solving simple linear equations.
Math 032 Video is a distance learning course. Students use Digital Video Tutors (CDs for their computer) or traditional videos for instruction. The students must come to campus for testing. Math 100 (Regular) is a prealgebra class. Students are taught to use integers, whole number exponents, simple polynomial operations, solving linear equations and graphing linear equations. Students are introduced to simple polynomial factoring, simple systems of equations and operations with rational expressions. This course is recommended for students that need Math 155 or only Math 101. It is also a good follow-up course for Math 032 students.
Math 100 (Combined with Math 101)
Not taught in Summer
Math 100 (Combined with 101) is a combination class that includes both Math 100 regular and Math 101 objectives. It is very fast paced. In addition to the topics covered in the regular math 100, students learn more about solving linear and quadratic equations, complex fraction, and solving equations containing rational expressions. This course is recommended for students that need Math 102 or above. Students that have taken Math 032 are not recommended for this course.
Math 100 Online uses MyMathLab as the platform for learning. It is a distance learning course. This course is not self-paced. There is a schedule. However, it is flex-time in that students can choose when to work on the class. The Math 100 regular topics are covered. Students that have taken Math 032 are not recommended for this course.
