About the Career
The Engineering Design Technology program was designed in cooperation with local industry to address the expanded role mechanical engineering technicians play in today's manufacturing environment. CAD training has been intensified and expertise in programmable controllers and electromechanical devices has been added to prepare the mechanical engineering technician for the workplace of tomorrow.
Career opportunities may be found in a variety of engineering and manufacturing firms working with mechanical and electrical engineers, architects, and planners. The increasingly automated manufacturing processes and extensive use of CAD/CAM have created employment opportunities that are expected to continue growing.
