What are the typical duties of someone in your
position? As director of Career and Technology
Education (CATE), I am responsible for the
development and maintenance of positive CATE
programs and initiatives.
How did Midlands Technical College help prepare
you for your career field? MTC gave me solid foundation in Business,
Marketing, and Accounting.
What things do you find rewarding about your
profession? The most rewarding aspect of my job is
working with educators and the community to make a
positive impact on the lives of children.
Are there aspects of your profession that you
find stressful? The most stressful aspects of my
profession are dealing with bureaucracy and
sometimes limited funding.
What do you see as the most important personal
qualities someone considering going into your
profession should have? Integrity, honesty, drive,
and strong work ethics.
What advice do you have for students at Midlands
Technical College who might be interested in entering
your profession? Complete your program of study
and make sure that it seamlessly connects with a
four-year institution that meets your educational
needs.

When
pursuing your career goals make sure that you have a
