  • Inspiration automatically starts in Diagram view
• Begin by typing in your Main Idea. Don’t worry about your spelling for now…just type
• After you type in your Main Idea go to the Toolbar at the top, Single-click the Rapidfire action button
o Rapidfire places a lightening bolt on your main idea

• Type in a few words related to your Main Idea, Hit Enter/return on the keyboard
o Notice how the few words you just typed have added a new bubble!

• Keep entering in your ideas until you have at least six or seven bubbles

• You can enlarge the view of your document. Click on the big mountain, try it!

• Go back to the Toolbar at the top, switch from Diagram view to Outline view

• On your first subtopic single-click on the toolbar the Note icon and type in a brief note

• Go back to Diagram view
• Notice how the program has added a notepad with a pencil. This is a visual reminder that you have added a note.

• Single click on the note and you will see the information you had typed. You can add more information if you want at this point and click on the ‘x’ to close it up.
• Always be sure to save your work by naming your file then saving it to a disc

• Next, try using a Template

• Click on File
• Click on Open Template
• Double-click on Language Arts
• Double-click on Writing Directions
• Review the steps in the process listed on the template
