BPI Air
Conditioning & Heat Pump Professional
This course is designed for the experienced
Heating Professionals.
EPA Section 608 (Type-2 or Universal)
proof of certification is required and “Must Be Provided” in order
to attend.
The training, which consists of both
classroom and field experience, will prepare the student for the
Building Performance Institute (BPI) Air Conditioning and Heat Pump
Professional written and field exams.
Topics covered in the training are:
Health & Safety, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Science;
Sizing/Selection, Duct System Design/Installation/Repair and
Sealing, Refrigerant Charge & Cycles, Electrical Control Systems,
Condenser Systems, Pressure Balancing and Proper System Installation
and Service.
The BPI Cooling Professional designation
was developed in collaboration with North American Technician
Excellence (NATE).
At the conclusion of the training the
student must successfully pass a 100 question online exam & then
successfully pass a two hour one-one-one (with a certified
instructor) field exam.
