Engineering Technologies and Engineering Transfer

Manufacturing Certificate

Today's manufacturing operations are often highly computerized and require manufacturing technicians capable of functioning in an environment that requires then to understand the design and manufacturing process as well as quality control processes.  Manufacturing technicians must be capable of using operating conventional machine tools, using precision measuring tools such as coordinate measuring machine (CMM), using sophisticated computer software such as computer aided design (CAD) software and 3-dimensional modeling software, and operating and programming computer controlled (CNC) machine tools.

The Manufacturing Certificate prepares students for employment as entry-level technicians capable of supporting the 2D and 3D design and manufacturing requirements of most manufacturing firms.

The Building Systems, Computer Aided Design, Mechanical Systems, Manufacturing, and Rapid Prototyping Certificates may be combined together with general education courses to obtain an Associate in Occupational Technology Degree in Design and Manufacturing.
