Civil Engineering Technology

Civil Engineering Technology graduates play a major role in the design and construction of airports, bridges, highways, pipelines, and water and sewage systems.  They can become professionally licensed land surveyors, steel detailers, construction superintendents, civil engineering technologist and technicians, engineering design assistants, cost estimators and public works technicians.  To perform this work, civil engineering technicians must possess knowledge and skills in such technical areas as surveying, drafting materials and cost, estimating, structures and hydraulics,  construction materials project management  and use of computers.

Special Requirements

Students are required to purchase an engineering pocket calculator at an approximate cost of $75.

 

Graduation Requirements

In addition to college graduation requirements, a minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in all AET, CET, EGR, EGT and EET courses.
