Child Care Certificate

Early Childhood Development (ECD) is designed for people entering the field of early childhood education as well as for those already employed in the field who want to improve their job skills.

Through course work and experiences at area child development centers, you will learn how children grow and why they behave as they do.  You will also learn positive methods of working with young children that will help them to develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially.

When you graduate, you will have the skills necessary to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for young children.  You will be qualified to work in public or private child development and day care centers, and family or group day care homes as a teacher's assistant.
