Pre-Business Studies Certificate

Midlands Technical College's Business Department provides a innovative, up-to-date learning environment that enables individuals to achieve their personal, professional and educational goals for the purpose of contributing to the economic growth of the community.

The Pre-Business Studies certificate applies to all accounting, management and marketing majors. The purpose of this certificate is to prepare students for entry into a business program of study by providing a solid foundation in the "basics" of business (including e-commerce) and related fundamental academic skills. By exposing students to the various aspects of the business world (accounting, management, marketing and e-commerce) a student can make an informed decision as to which business program of study he or she will enter into upon completion of the certificate.

Although the certificate is not specifically designed to prepare students for a particular job or provide certain skills, it will enhance their success in pursuing their major which should lead to employment and/or continuation of their educational goals.
