All course prerequisites may not be listed. Developmental reading courses are required if a student's reading placement test score indicates the need for RDG 035 and/or RDG 100 or the ESL equivalent. Developmental math courses are required if a student's math placement test score indicates the need for MAT 035 and/or MAT 100. Developmental English courses are required if a student's English placement test score indicates the need for ENG 035 and/or ENG 100, or the ESL equivalent. Students must discuss their placement test scores with an academic advisor before registering for any courses.

INTRODUCTION TO PHILOSOPHY

3.0 Credits

This course includes a topical survey of the three main branches of philosophy -- epistemology, metaphysics and ethics -- and the contemporary questions related to these fields.

INTRODUCTION TO LOGIC

3.0 Credits

This course is an introduction to the structure of argument, including symbolization, proofs, formal fallacies, deductions and inductions. (Prerequisite: MAT 102)

 

PHI 106

LOGIC II LOGIC REASONING

3.0 Credits

This elementary logic course is an introduction to Inductive Reasoning. Patterns of Inductive Reasoning including Analogical Reasoning, Inductive Generalizations, Scientific Reasoning, and Casual Reasoning will be examined. Probability Theory, Decision Analysism, and the criteria for the acceptability of inductive arguments will be covered also. (Prerequisite: MAT 102)

2.0 Credits

This course will provide a study of managing personnel, materials and work flow in a pharmacy. It will also provide an approach to managing pharmaceutical inventory, drug utilization studies, personnel management (including work assignment, scheduling to meet operational hours), managing patient information systems, managing equipment (utilization, materials, maintenance), and policies and procedures generally used in pharmacy. AMERICAN GOVERNMENT

3.0 Credits

This course is a study of national governmental institutions with emphasis on the Constitution, the functions of executive, legislative and judicial branches, civil liberties and the role of the electorate. This course is a study of the total quality control concept for manufacturing and service industries, including the statistical technology of quality management, process tolerances and control limits, and variable and attribute control charts.
