Academic Policies and Requirements

Orientation

Orientation is offered in the format of a "Student Success Seminar" and is designed to inform all students -- recent high school graduates, returning students and retirees, as well as those with special needs such as foreign students and students with disabilities -- of the services offered. It gives students information on assessment results, college services, college clubs and organizations, financial aid, and college success strategies. Orientation is an occasion to meet with peers, student leaders, faculty and staff at the college and to learn about the campuses. Students are also informed regarding academic advisement and the next steps in the enrollment process.

Several additional orientation formats are available to students. Individualized multimedia orientation programs are provided on computers in the Student Assessment Centers on Airport and Beltline Campuses. A videotape orientation is available to all entering students at no cost and may be obtained from the Student Assessment or Student Records Offices.

All new students enrolled at Midlands Technical College are strongly encouraged to attend the orientation program. For more information, call 738-8324.
