Academic Policies and Requirements
Graduation Honors
Associate Degree with High Honors Awarded only to associate degree recipients who (a) have a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.8-4.0, and (b) have a letter of recommendation for high honors from both the department chair of the program in which the student is graduating and the Vice President for Education.
Associate Degree with Honors Awarded only to associate degree recipients who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5-3.79. Students with GPAs above 3.79 but who do not qualify for high honors (above) will receive honors.
Certificate of Completion/Diploma with Honors Awarded only to Certificate of Completion/Diploma recipients who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above in at least two semesters of work at the college.
Achievement Honors
President's List Students who earn a 4.0 grade point average in at least 12 credit hours attempted at Midlands Technical College will be placed on the President's List for that term and given appropriate recognition.
Scholars' List Students who earn a 3.5-3.99 grade point average in at least 12 credit hours attempted will be placed on the Scholars' List for that term and given appropriate recognition.
Part-Time Student Honor Roll Students who earn a 3.8 grade point average or above in at least three credit hours but no more than 11 credit hours will be placed on the Part-Time Student Honor Roll and given appropriate recognition.
