
Course Description: MGT 255
This course is a study of effective
individual and group behavior in an organization to maximize productivity
and psychological and social satisfaction.
Textbook: Organizational Behavior: Key Concepts, Skills, and Best Practices 3rd edition by Kinicki/Kreitner published by McGraw-Hill.
COURSE OUTCOMES AND COMPETENCIES:
As part of the Business department’s ongoing student learning outcomes assessments activities the following outcomes and competencies have been developed for MGT 255:
Intended Course Outcome #1: Students will demonstrate overall knowledge of organizational behavior in relation to managing stress, using teams, conflict management, power and leadership.
Course Competency: Students will demonstrate overall knowledge of organizational behavior in relation to motivation, decision-making, group behavior and communication in a comprehensive exam including embedded questions pertaining to managing stress, using teams, conflict management, power and leadership.
Measurement Instrument: MGT 255 students are required to complete a set of embedded standardized examination questions prepared by faculty based on the course learning objectives.
Intended Course Outcome #2: Students will demonstrate overall knowledge of organizational behavior in relation to motivation, decision-making, group behavior and communication.
Course Competency: Students will demonstrate overall knowledge of organizational behavior in relation to motivation, decision-making, group behavior and communication in a comprehensive exam including embedded questions pertaining to motivation, decision-making, group behavior and communication.
Measurement Instrument: A comprehensive exam developed by the management/marketing faculty that is based on the course learning objectives will be administered each semester. or gaining sustainable competitive advantage.
