Course Description:
ACC 115:   

This course is a study of the types and uses of internal accounting information for management decision making, including cost determination, cost control, performance evaluation and financial planning. Chapters 18 through 26 are covered except for the topics listed below. (Prerequisite: ACC 112)

This Web-based product reviews critical text material chapter-by-chapter. Concepts are reinforced through PowerPoint presentations, on-line videos, exercises, problems, cases, flashcards, self-tests, and other online resources.

CengageNOW:
CengageNOW is an Internet-based product designed to help students complete all of their end-of-chapter exercises and problems. Students receive automatic and instant scoring. Students struggling with a particular problem can access hints and tips to expand their understanding of the concepts. In addition, all department assessment activities will take place in CenageNOW, so it is important to register your product. Course Outcomes and Competencies:
As part of the Business department’s commitment to teaching effectiveness and ongoing student learning outcomes assessments activities the following outcomes and competencies have been developed for ACC 112:

Intended Course Outcome #1: Students will demonstrate overall knowledge of the learning objectives for introductory managerial accounting.

Course Competency (Performance Measure): Students will demonstrate understanding job order and process costing, types of manufacturing costs, contribution margin and breakeven analysis, manufacturing variances, and budgeting.

Measurement Instrument and Success Criteria: A standardized departmental practice set of problems developed by accounting faculty that is based on the course learning objectives will be administered each semester.
