Textbook Ancillaries:
When you purchase a new course textbook, you receive access codes for WebTutor Advantage and CengageNOW (formally ThomsonNOW). These are web-base learning resources specifically designed to supplement the course and provide a whole new dimension of productive study. Your instructor will explain how to register and access the products. Directions are also available within the WebCT tutorial site (ACC_tutorial_22e) or your instructor’s website for the course.  Please Note: If you purchase a “used” textbook, you will be required to buy the WebTutor and CengageNOW separately.

WebTutor:
No two students have identical study needs. That's why WebTutor Advantage is so valuable.  It focuses on individual study efforts where they're needed most. This Web-based product reviews critical text material chapter-by-chapter. Concepts are reinforced through PowerPoint presentations, on-line videos, exercises, problems, cases, flashcards, self-tests, and other online resources.

CengageNOW:
CengageNOW is an Internet-based product designed to help students complete all of their end-of-chapter exercises and problems. Students receive automatic and instant scoring. Students struggling with a particular problem can access hints and tips to expand their understanding of the concepts. In addition, all department assessment activities will take place in CenageNOW, so it is important to register your product. Course Outcomes and Competencies:
As part of the Business department’s commitment to teaching effectiveness and ongoing student learning outcomes assessments activities the following outcomes and competencies have been developed for ACC 112:

Intended Course Outcome #1: Students will demonstrate overall knowledge of the learning objectives for introductory managerial accounting.

Course Competency (Performance Measure): Students will demonstrate understanding job order and process costing, types of manufacturing costs, contribution margin and breakeven analysis, manufacturing variances, and budgeting.

Measurement Instrument and Success Criteria: A standardized departmental practice set of problems developed by accounting faculty that is based on the course learning objectives will be administered each semester.

There are chapter handouts for this course. You may open or download the files from here or go to the individual chapter page to access the handout. Some of these files are large (30-40 pages), therefore it may take several minutes to access them. 

These handouts are designed to reinforce the learning objectives of Accounting 115. They are NOT intended to replace reading the textbook and/ or doing the homework. You are responsible for reading all assigned pages in each chapter!

Chapter PowerPoint Presentations:
There are chapter PowerPoint presentations for this course. You may open or download the files. These are large files so be patient, it may take several minutes to access them. These presentations are developed by the publisher and are designed to reinforce the learning objectives of Accounting 115. They are NOT intended to replace reading the textbook and/ or doing the homework.  

Note: If you do not have Microsoft PowerPoint on your computer, to view these documents, you will need to download the MS PowerPoint Viewer from the Microsoft website and click the "Download Now" link.  Once you have done this, you may use your browser's BACK button to return to this page. 

Homework Solutions:
No homework solutions are provided since the student is expected to use the CenageNOW  feature to complete the homework.

Interactive Study Center:

(Select the "back" button to return to this page). Here you will be able to review the chapter concepts through  E-Lectures and links to the PowerPoint presentations. In addition, there are step-by-step presentations of the chapters' Illustrative Problem and the solution to improve your skills in solving accounting problems. 

You may also want to review the answers to the Frequently Asked Questions to aid your understanding of the important topics in the chapter or review the Internet Applications. 

You can test your understanding of the chapter material by taking an Interactive Quiz and reviewing the feedback. Please note: Do not forward the answers to your instructor unless you are required to do so.
