Steps to take for admission to Midlands Technical College and the Automotive Department
AUTOMOTIVE DEPARTMENT: Entrance RequirementsAll Automotive Students Must Attend a MANDATORY New Student Orientation Prior To The Beginning Of Their First Semester In The Automotive Program - Failure to attend will result in being ineligible to attend automotive classes.RDG Score of 80-compass or 40-asset – or DVS before entering Automotive MATH Score of 44-compass or 40-asset – To take curriculum level courses ENGLISH Score of 30 compass or asset – To take curriculum level courses Open enrollment Student may start any semester (daytime) or at the beginning of section (night) Student may take Certificate or Associate degree program Certificate – Certificate awarded for each successfully completed automotive course, 6 semesters/6 certificates total (60 credit hours). Associate Degree – 6 semesters of automotive training plus 2 general ed. classes each fall and spring semester to complete in 2 years (total 84 cr.hrs.) Automotive Course Sequence New student will be placed in one of the following their first semester:
