EARLY CARE AND EDUCATION

Associate Degree in Public Service (ECE3)

Instructional Concentration

DESCRIPTION:   A program designed for individuals entering the field of child care and early education as well as those who are already employed and wish to upgrade their knowledge and skills.

BEGINNING SEMESTERS:  Fall/Spring/Summer

CAMPUS:   Airport and Beltline (day, evening, and weekend classes)

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of 66 semester hours is required with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.

PROGRAM NOTES:

  1. Students must successfully complete 36 hours of required Early Childhood Development core courses (see chart below).
  2. Students must successfully complete 15 hours of required General Education courses (see chart below)
  3. Students must successfully complete 15 hours of required Instructional Track courses (see chart below).
  4. Students enrolling in ECD 107, ECD 131, ECD 132, ECD 133, ECD 237, and ECD 243 must complete SLED and DSS forms prior to enrollment; Forms are available from the Program Director.
