Why I Chose MTC

I chose Midlands Technical College for many reasons. The most obvious reason is the economic factor. I am currently pursuing my Associate’s Degree in Accounting, but I hope to eventually continue on to a four-year institution and then take the CPA exam. I found that MTC was a great place economically to get some of my basic classes out of the way first. However, now that I am here, I plan on completing my two-year degree so that I can enter the workforce and then get my Bachelor’s Degree. Also, class size is another great thing about MTC. As I said I initially started at Coastal, and it was not uncommon to find yourself in a huge lecture hall full of at least 100 people. It is very easy to get lost in the crowd in a place like that. At MTC my average class size has been about 15 people. That gives you the opportunity to get one on one attention from your instructors.

The instructors at MTC are also wonderful. I have yet to have a negative experience with any of my instructors. They have all been willing to go above and beyond to help me out. They are more than willing to stay after class and I have even had an instructor write a recommendation letter for a job I was applying for. You don’t find that at many other colleges. MTC is an all-around good school. So far I have had a very positive experience here and I have gained a new sense of confidence and accomplishment while being here. Whether you use MTC as a springboard to start your college career or complete your entire education here, you can’t go wrong.
