Hi. So you’re thinking of continuing (or perhaps resuming) your post-secondary education? Great for you! Now comes the hard part. You’ve made that decision to better yourself either personally or financially. All you have to do now is make that happen. Don’t panic. I know how you feel. Let me introduce myself. My name is Alicia. I’m 23 years old and I’m a student here at Midlands Technical College. I was raised in Indianapolis, IN. I was what you might call socially awkward as a kid. I was bright and nice but that didn’t necessarily mean I fit in. School was horrible for me. My mom put me in home schooling in the tenth grade. I graduated at 16 years old. Then I just stopped. I didn’t know where I wanted my life to end up or what roads to take to get there. I knew I wanted to go to college but not what I wanted to get from it. So now I’ve got some drive back and a real career goal. I had worked in a cash office for over three years and loved it. I still work there now and I still love it. I wanted to work with money, numbers and finance. The stumbling blocks of indecision and lack of direction had been removed. Now I had a whole new set. I’m working towards an AA Degree at MTC with plans to transfer after graduation to a four year college.
