Dual Enrolled High School Student Information

Definition of a dual enrolled high school student:

What a dual enrolled high school student may do:

Students enrolled in high school may in some instances be admitted to MTC as career development students to take a limited number of courses. These applicants must provide letters of permission from their parent/guardian and from their high school principal/designee. Admissions Procedures:

Prospective dual enrolled high school students must apply to the college and meet all placement and other prerequisites for the course in which they plan to enroll.

High school students seeking dual enrollment under the age of 16, must have special admissions and academic departmental approvals.

Transferring Dual Enrollment Credits

Most of MTC's general education college courses transfer to colleges and universities across the nation. In addition, many applied technical or professional courses transfer to selected colleges and universities. However, the college to which the courses are being transferred determines transferability of credits. Students should contact the college to which they intend to transfer to ensure their courses transfer. To learn more about course transferability, please click here.
